Wheat and Grain Sorghum Sequencing for Three Crops in Four-Year Rotations
نویسندگان
چکیده
In 1996, an effort began to quantify soil water storage, crop use, and productivity on dryland systems in western Kansas. Research 4-year rotations with wheat grain sorghum was initiated at the Southwest Research-Extension Center near Tribune, KS. Rotations were wheatwheat- sorghum-fallow (WWSF), wheat-sorghum-sorghum-fallow (WSSF), continuous (WW). Soil planting averaged about 9.1 in. following sorghum, which is 3.8 more than average for second a WWSF rotation. only 1.5 less compared wheat. Sorghum yield 2022 first after wheat, above recrop below Wheat yields zero due hail. yields, when across years, have been 2 bu/a greater two crops one crop. Average same or crops. Yield of WSSF rotation averages ~66%

متن کاملAnalysis of grain yield stability and assessment of genotype × environment interaction for grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) genotypes
The interaction of genotype × environment creates complications in yield prediction and is a challenge for agronomy and plant breeding programs. To evaluate grain yield stability and genotype × environment interaction for 18 local and exotic grain sorghum cultivars, lines, and hybrids, a field experiment was conducted using randomized complete block design with three replications in four region...
متن کاملFusarium Levels in Grain Harvested from New Zealand Wheat and Barley Crops in 2000
Samples of grain from 40 New Zealand wheat and barley crops harvested in 2000 were assayed for Fusarium infection. Grain from all crops was infected, and Fusarium incidence ranged from 3 to 52% of grains infected, with a mean of 14%. Incidence of Fusarium was higher in spring wheat than in autumn wheat or spring barley. The highest level of infection (52% grains infected) was found in Otane whe...
متن کاملeffect of different crop rotations on grain yield and some agronomic traits of wheat (triticum aestivum l.) in dryland conditions of kermanshah
introduction crop sequencing with a particular arrangement in a 2-3 or more yearly period is known as crop rotation. considering crop diversity and soil fertility crop rotation is essential because it prevents soil degradation which is a result of sequential cultivation of one crop causing nutrients imbalance, exudation of different compounds and antibiotics from crop roots. determining crops s...
